Church Service Project

In February of 2013 I was asked to bring my blankets and do a Church Service Project in another town about 20 minutes away from my hometown. I was honored and glad that people outside my hometown were interested in making a difference by making blankets.

Fundraising Bake Sale

I held a bake sale to earn money for blankets. I had some wonderful friends help me and many more who donated baked goods.

Giving Blankets to DCFS

My Grandma & Grandpa started taking foster children early in their married life. I have been raised with them. And I know how scared they can be after being taken from their parents and coming to a new home. I wanted to give some Comfort 4 Children identical blankets to DCFS so they could give them to the children who are making the transition so they will have something that can give them more comfort during this uncertain time.

Community Service Night

I held a community night in March 2013 where people from my community came and helped tie quilts to give to the Cedar City Women's Shelter.

Mission Statement

My name is McKensee Harris; I am a High School student in Southern Utah. I started a charity called Comfort 4 Children.

Through my work and donations and your investment in a blanket, we provide comfort and warmth to a child less fortunate.

I personally make 2 identical blankets by earning donations of material or raising funds to purchase material and supplies to create the blankets.

One blanket is sold at retail and the matching identical blanket is then shipped to a child in need somewhere else in the world. The proceeds from the retail sale pay for the shopping and delivery of the 2nd blanket to the child in need.

When you buy a Comfort 4 Children blanket you have the option to fill out a simple postcard and when the charity blanket is shipped out to a child you will receive the postcard back with the region and country of our beautiful and wonderfully diverse world that your identical blanket is being sent.

My hope is the barriers, or of race, culture, religion, and other differences will diminish as people share an identical blanket with a child who, although less fortunate than them, will enjoy the blanket for the same reasons, comfort and warmth.
